What is PolkaFantasy Marketplace?
PolkaFantasy is a cross-chain NFT marketplace that allows easy buying and selling of NFTs through its user-friendly interface. The marketplace is especially suited for authentic Japanese animation, comics, and game (ACG) culture.
How do I interact with the platform?
For you to mint, buy or sell NFTs, you only need to connect your cryptocurrency wallet to enable functions of sending and receiving tokens. Currently, the market is compatible with MetaMask.
How do I buy an NFT?
To buy NFTs, you need a certain amount of tokens in your connected wallet to make the payments. Currently, the platform supports USDT and ETH. Once you have loaded your wallet, you can browse the website to find the NFT that you are interested in and make an offer.
What Token Standards are supported by the Platform?
The platform supports both ERC-1155 and ERC-721 tokens. ERC-1155 allows minting multiple versions of similar NFTs hence reducing the cost of producing each NFT. However, ERC-721 NFT tokens are rarer.
Are there gas fees on the platform?
PolkaFantasy is currently supporting Ethereum-based NFTs. Hence, the Ethereum gas fee applies. Your MetaMask wallet will show you the gas fee that you will incur if you wish to complete a transaction. The gas fee may vary depending on the number of transactions on the blockchain at a given time. If the fee is too high for you, you can wait and try again another time when the network is less congested.
There may be several gas fees depending on your transaction i.e. create NFT, list NFT for sale. You may need to edit gas fees to ensure a successful transaction.

How is the total cost of buying an NFT calculated?
The total cost is the sum of the price of the NFT, the royalties, and the platform fees.
What are royalties?
Royalties are the payments that you receive each time your NFT is sold. It is often calculated as a percentage of the total sale price. You can define this percentage for your NFT. The recommended range is 5 to 15%. However, you can set up to 50%.
How do I create/mint an NFT?
- Go to the “Create” tab. Select ‘Type of NFT’ as ERC-721 or ERC-1155 Select default collection or create a collection (custom collection feature currently not available yet)*
- Choose a ‘Title’ for your NFT.
- Upload the file in the following supported format: jpg, png, gif, mp4, flv, 3gp, mov, wmv (max 100mb)
- Describe your NFT for the potential buyers to understand what the digital collectible is all about.
- Add extra information that only NFT owners can access. This is also an optional step.
- Select the category that best describes your NFT.
- Define your royalty percentage. [Click Next]
- Select if you want to sell now ‘Fixed Price’ or to ‘Sell Later’.
If you are selling ERC-1155 you can sell multiple instances at the same time only if you select Fixed Price, otherwise you will need to sell each edition individually. [Click Next] - Select the Price if you choose to sell now for Fixed Price. You can check the price breakdown here. [Click Next]
- Preview your NFT. If everything is okay, click Create at the bottom of the page. [Click Create]
*You may encounter 1–3 gas fees depending on your choices and you may need to edit the gas fee for each transaction.
Why do you censor some NFTs?
Users may spot inappropriate content listed by other users on the platform. In that case, they are encouraged to report such NFTs. PolkaFantasy team will conduct an honest review of the case and censor the NFT if deemed inappropriate. Such NFTs will be hidden from public view and other users cannot see them. However, if you disagree with the censorship of your NFT, you can contact the support at info@polkafantasy.com. The support will reverse the decision if they are convinced that the NFT was incorrectly censored.
