2021- The Year PolkaFantasy Was Born and Became a Reality.
A holistic experience where gamers and collectors are enabled to explore the possibilities of NFTs, with PolkaFantasy’s Japanese-ACG-dedicated NFT marketplace and metaverse games.
From our pre-launch in August, to building out our team and establishing key partnerships, PolkaFantasy is well on the way to becoming the best Japanese made play-to-earn games and NFT marketplace. Here’s a recap of the progress made in 2021, but before we jump in, we want to say THANK YOU to all our supporters who have been with us up to this point.
August
PolkaFantasy’s first auction pre-sale event (August 26–30, 2021) was a wild success with an astonishing record of $4.3M+ raised from a total of 6327 valid bids on our 1st NFT collection. The sale event was encouraging to the Team as we are building one of the strongest-ever communities in the NFT gaming space and we’re just getting started! Thank you so much! PolkaFantasy cannot wait for the official release of the game and make your dream world a reality!
We also welcomed onboard an essential advisor: former COO of Square Enix US Okada Daishiro as our strategic adviser for PolkaFantasy’s gaming development. While Masao Ohata joining the team as the Game Advisor.
September
September 10th, closely following the auction, we launched our Initial DEX Offering on Uniswap V2. The first day trading volume was $50 million and reached ~100x of the IDO price!
Meanwhile, PolkaFantasy was more than honored to former TV Tokyo Animation Department Managers Keisuke Iwata, as our Anime Advisor and Masayuki Matsuoka as PolkaFantasy’s Game Advisor. With these valuable additions to the team, we are much better positioned to build the BEST gaming experience within the decentralized space for our users on top of the foundation we’ve laid.
October
In October, we successfully distributed weapon and character NFTs to the winners from the auction in the most secure manner. The NFTs can be found on Opensea.
We hosted our first-ever “Fantasy Land” presale on our own platform for $XP holders and previous auction participants with exclusive offers and limited editions of NFTs. The auction received an incredible response from $XP holders where $2M was raised in the first 10 minutes! After our $XP holder land sale, we orchestrated another land sale for auction participants to show our appreciation for their support since the very beginning of our journey.
Our early supporters mean the world to us and we’re much respected to take you on this journey with us.
Later we collaborated with 4 launchpads: Trustpad, Chainboost, Spores Network and GameStarter to co-host the final rounds of land presale. The partnerships helped us reach new groups of audiences and market our revolutionary gaming experience to a broader consumer base. PolkaFantasy community is growing at an exponential rate on the back of immense support from early supporters and new joiners! Land distribution is in progress as we are measuring land coordinates and fine tuning the Fantasy Land map.
November
In November, we had our first centralized exchange listing on one of the world’s most trusted platforms, MEXC. The official listing on MEXC provides liquidity to all our users. As we are looking to build the strongest GameFi ecosystem, our native governance token plays a role of paramount importance. We partnered with MEXC to coordinate a trading competition where top traders were rewarded $30,000 USDT. The competition was intense as the grand prizes would only go to 10 traders with the highest trading volume. In celebration of the listing, we offered a $15K participation prize from the prize pool to all $XP traders.
Later after, we partnered with Moonfarm, a new Yield Farming Optimization platform which allows PolkaFantasy to offer locked staking options of 1,2,4 months to our community. The pools were filled in the first few hours after opening with a total value of $1.5M worth of $XP. We are glad that our community has been exceedingly supportive in early phases and we have been continuously working to find ways to add value and give back to PolkaFantasy supporters.
PolkaFantasy’s advisor team is growing stronger with Takeshi Yasuda, a former Kadokawa Managing Executive Officer, joining the team as Publishing Advisor. Leaning on his full spectrum of publishing experience and expertise, PolkaFantasy’s content creation quality is guaranteed to be elevated to top level.
December
December was a fruitful month as we first added three renowned game artists to the team: Koichi Sakita (崎田浩一), Satoru Yamashita (山下智), and Yukiyo Kuramoto. They all have a prestigious portfolio and experience in the gaming or design space.
The official launch of our marketplace beta version was a magnificent success! On the day of our marketplace launch, we released a genesis NFT with a limited supply of 90 pieces — “The Enchanted Gathering of Heroes” NFTs. The NFT was priced 0.1 ETH. We were grateful that the NFTs were all sold out within hours, thanks to our massive community.
The Future Looks Bright in 2022
We’re working on our marketplace integration with Polygon and BSC Network in order to minimize gas fees. In the meantime, we’re polishing the NFT wallet’s experience by refining the UI and UX to elevate the experience. We are currently in the final stages of deploying the BSC & Polygon bridges, actively auditing and undergoing penetration tests to ensure safety and security for our users’ assets.
We are also looking to construct a Loot Box sale after the completion of BSC and Polygon bridges. The bridge implementations will provide alternatives for users to switch between networks at their convenience and again, to reduce gas fees, and increase the scope of $XP demographic in the near future.
Last but not least, PolkaFantasy’s first game is under development while we are creating more characters to add vibrancy to it. The alpha/beta version will be released approximately in April for users to get a taste for the finest Japanese GameFi experience! So far, we have made tremendous progress this year. We can’t wait to see you in the PolkaFantasy metaverse.
